Those of you that wish to remove that unnecessary Restart option can use
a workaround. First install dconf-editor and then launch it from
commands lens Alt+F2 and navigate to:
appsindicator-session
and then simply check suppress-restart-menuitem and the annoying and
redundant Restart option will
I installed those two packages long ago even before they landed in
saucy-proposed. I simply downloaded them from SRU Staging PPA and so far
everything worked.
Unfortunately today indicator-datetime didn't load. I think that there
was about 30 successful boots (checking disks on Plymouth screen)
Those new packages resolved the problem in my case.
The new package for indicator-session is only available in saucy-updates
(recommended actualisations) and the same goes for indicator-datetime.
Check in software properties that you have this repository enabled and
check the installed versions
Now that the Bug #1159249 is resolved for both 14.04 LTS and 15.04 I
think this bug should get at least a higher priority.
Some users already hit this bug and they were even convinced that HUD
