This is with the drivers as installed by a stock Kubuntu install. I have
not touched the video drivers. I therefore assume free.

I made the changes to the rules file that you suggested. IMHO worked
much better.
Both manpages have been created. I had a real problem with the
manpages. I would get lintian errors on the .deb but not on the source.

I have tested this with 64-bit Kubuntu Jaunty updated with Qt 4.5.0 on
March 19th and not seen any problems. I have tried ogg theora, avi and

This bug seems to have disappeared with newer KDE packages. I have tried
this with 64-bit Kubuntu Jaunty updated to current package set at March
19th, and have been unable to reproduce the crash. If the problem still

AFAICT, there are 2 versions of libdvdread. The historical one from ogle
(http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/groups/dvd/downloads.shtml) and a fork from
mplayer's dev. The version from ogle is 0.9.7 (DVDREAD_VERSION = 907 in
dvd_reader.h), the version from mplayer is 4.1.3 but DVDREAD_VERSION =

In the logs it appears that SFCB couldn't be stopped after sblim-cmpi-
base was reinstalled. It was probably not running. It may be related to
the extra providers you installed. If sfcb is running OK now, what

The version from mplayer is not a fork. They have taken over the development of
libdvdread.
And a quick grep for DVDREAD_VERSION in the current source reveals that this
string is defined but not used anywhere. So I don't think it is significant.

is mark that this problem is related to xorg (and it sure is!).
3) I found only one issue. Please read a description before commenting. My
issue is: my desktop sometimes behaves strange and annoying and thus
I manually applied that patch and it worked and activated the RAID sets.
Attached is a unified diff of the changes I made, the original source
differs from that of the other patch.

Although all of the actions appear in the dialog now, kerneloops still
doesn't seem to work with notify-osd. The apport report is never
generated. It also presents two different dialog boxes, with the same
set of actions, which doesn't look right at all.

Oh I'm sorry, because of Bug #294268 I did compile it myself. I forgot to use
--prefix=/usr though, that's why I had two versions installed. (I had reverted
to the package manager when the fix was committed)
However this bug still affects version 0.9.1 from the Intrepid backports. The
