Running Jaunty, 64bit, Nvidia 180.44 with compiz
OpenOfficre controls and menu items occasionally disappear when moused
over. Sometimes the window fails to refresh and I have to move it to see
changes. This was a problem in intrepid after the 180.44 driver package
was released. Downgrading to 17x

same issue, so I don't think it's new anymore.

hunt for the correct base address and size. With some tweaks it could probably
be packaged as a workaround until the drivers are fixed.
The script should be run by the display manager (ie gdm) to ensure persistence.

I had this same problem but it looks like the Commands plugin in
CompizConfig Settings Manager (ccsm) was 1. responsible for activating
those settings and 2. disabled by default in Jaunty. Enabling that
plugin fixed things for me.

I think that's true, the message is harmless. The reason that my luks-
encrypted partition did not mount was because I accidentally overwrote
/etc/security/pam_mount.conf.xml during the upgrade. Now it works.
I also removed the use_first_pass option from /etc/pam.d/common-pammount

I confirm this bug. I am using a Logitech QuickCam Pro for Notebooks
with Jaunty on an HP xw4600 workstation. The camera works fine in other
applications (Skype, guvcview). I always see one of the following
behaviors.
1. The throbber throbs for awhile and then stops. During the throbbing I

I still see a problem very similar to this in Ubuntu 9.04.
Running:
python -c 'import OpenGL.GL'
produces an error very similar to the one reported.
Installing binutils didn't fix this for me. I think this is the same as
bug #334213. See that bug for two possible workarounds.

Please attach the output of `lspci -vvnn`, and attach your /var/log/Xorg.0.log
(and maybe Xorg.0.log.old) file from after reproducing this issue. If you've
made any customizations to your /etc/X11/xorg.conf please attach that as well.

I upgraded from 8.10 to 9.04 and had this problem (There was an error
creating the child process for this terminal when starting terminal in
GNOME). Fix 1 solved this for me (`sudo mv
/etc/rcS.d/S03mountdevsubfs.sh /etc/rcS.d/S11mountdevsubfs.sh`).
