10Gb default size inherited from some other requirement, like EC2 ?

With Karmic alpha it is no more possible to create a bootable USB stick
with persistent data (see Gnome menu System). This might be caused by

I upgraded to 2.6.28-15-generic.
The message kinit: No resume image, doing normal boot... still appears, but
the image is loaded anyway.
Sometimes the resume process completes successfully, sometimes it doesn't - but
that's a different story/bug.

This was fixed in upstream Glom in 1.12.0.
1.12.1, released today, even has a few more fixes, so I hope it gets into
Karmic.
