has been fixed, it loaded faster like legacy grub and it detected all my

I am not sure there is any way to read out the BIOS setting. It is the
fault of the BIOS to leave the full RAID metadata on the disks, unless
there is a way to to detect whether it is active or not. If there is a
way, dmraid should be improved to make use of it of course.

GDM is run on tty9 (as I said: i configured gdm as the standard-
greeter). The confusion with the ALT-keys described above only occures
when I answer the questions of the dialog on tty9 instead of just
switching back. When switching back to tty7 with STRG-ALT all is normal
with alt-keys.

Sorry, I should have listed my workaround as well.
I re-enabled NVraid in the bios. During system post, I entered into the
NVraid setup screen, then I deleted the raid groups on that screen, then
I went back to the bios and disabled NVraid again. After that, dmraid
no longer mapped the old raid
I pushed a fixed package to -proposed and my PPA and tested it from
there with the /boot on separate partition case; would like to test the
other case of the old system having no separate /boot partition when
it's in -proposed.
