Hi I just installed on Ubuntu 9.10 on a HP TouchSmart tx2 VH884PA
touchscreen laptop (Japanese machine). I received the following error
message:
No evtouch capable device found, if you are sure you have
an evtouch capable touchscreen, please mail the resulting file of the command

Ok, I learnt a little about bash for this, so don't be cruel. I created
a little script that allows to switch the enable/disable state of the
touchpad. I hope it helps someone. Once you download it, open a terminal
and run (in the folder you downloaded it):

I have the same thing happen to me with Urban Terror on 9.10. Installing
libsdl1.2debian-pulseaudio and remove libsdl1.2-debian-alsa fixed
things.

Looks like the compiz gconf backend is listening for changes in metacity
key bindings and changing its own keybindings accordingly. This is
because integration with GNOME is activated.

Same patch is present in 1.3.5-1ubuntu1 as well. Looks like I messed up
something else in merging.
In any case this will get fixed when 1.3.5-2 is synced to lucid. Also
this is now fixed upstream so future versions will never have problems.
