typing 'export EXPERIMENTALLY_ALLOW_PULSE_AUDIO=1' in a bash terminal
window and then starting mythfrontend from that terminal window does
solve the sound problem.

I've also noticed that if you use the remote for anything (change
volume, pause etc) while watching a recording then mythfrontend will
crash if you stop the recording with either the keyboard or remote.

This is also happening to me when using the 'Escape' button on my MCE
Remote to stop recordings. Each time the screen goes black, and the
recording list does not appear.
Pressing 'Esc' on the keyboard exits the recording and displayes the
recording list normally.
