The issue has two root causes: 1. the tuxoniceui_usplash needs a fix to add two fade_logo calls. This is already fixed in the tuxonice-userui SVN. 2. the pm-utils sleep.d hook 98-smart-kernel-video disables changing the VT. To get it work with TOI, you need to enable it by commenting out one
