Hi,
What I did to solve it was to copy a new /etc/acidlab/acid_conf.php. the
file was not there when the installation finished...
It was a clean new installation.
Let me know if you want to test something here.

Don't know why but it is not a one time bug for me...
I first tried it on 8.04 -- failed with the same error.
Then I upgraded to 8.10 and had some time to try it again. Again, the same
error.
I tried to clean everything several times (Thinking I messed something) but
without any success.

dpkg: error processing acidlab (--configure):
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Errors were
OK, it looks like to resolve this you have to do: sudo dpkg-reconfigure --force
acidlab
..and customize it from there.
Or:
sudo apt-get purge acidlab
sudo rm -rf /etc/acidlab
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get upgrade
sudo apt-get install acidlab
But I think the debian package should be able to

The actual problem seems to be the fact that if the folder /etc/acidlab is
manually removed, it blocks further reinstalls.
