A reproducable hang for me (with adblock plus installed) is to visit
pingtest.net
This happens even if adblock is turned off (via it's menu - the add-on still
enabled).
Disabling the add-on stops firefox hanging.
$ apt-cache policy adblock-plus
adblock-plus:
Installed: (none)
Candidate:
No whitelisting the page does not avoid the problem. only way I could
find to avoid it is to disable or remove adblock plus. Also I am now
using the latest karmic and I still have this problem. Why is this bug
marked incomplete? what more information can I give to help get this
fixed?

I also have this problem.
I just upgraded from hardy up to jaunty (network upgrade to intrepid then
jaunty). Hardy never had this problem, but now I have it on jaunty.
The problem exists with both versions of adblock plus (repos and 1.1
from firefox's website).

Right, if you get that you don't have the package from the repos
installed. Can you please verify whether you get the same error with
our version?

yes, I have the same error with the package from the repos.
I removed the ABP extension I had got from firefox's webpage; restarted
firefox; installed the one from the repos;restarted firefox again; and
then had the same problem with the one from the repo.

also note; I think thats the package from firefox's webpage is a
slightly newer version (ABP 1.1) while the repo is 1.0 But that should
not matter here since both versions seem to have this problem.

I am now using jaunty and still have this problem. the command say
Installed: (none) but i do have it installed and enabled(i think i
installed it from FF's web page not from apt-get ).
