Public bug reported:
Using Jaunty 2.6.28-8 64 bit Kubuntu and startupmanager 1.9.12-1.
If I set a grub background (from kde-look.org) the text setting colours and
blink do not work. The text appears in the grub menu as always being white with
a black background only on the highlighted item (see attached). I tried this
with three different backgrounds and get the same problem each time. Settings
screenshot on second attachment.
