Public bug reported:

I tried to install sun-java6-jre on Karmic but got a message about
broken packages.

Output of lsb_release -rd:
Description:    Ubuntu karmic (development branch)
Release:        9.10

Output of apt-cache policy sun-java6-jre:
sun-java6-jre:
  Installed: (none)
  Candidate: 6-15-1
  Version table:

Should install the Sun Java 6 runtime environment but instead got this output:
$ sudo apt-get install sun-java6-jre

requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
