Software playthough ('feedthrough'?!) definitely shouldn't cause
Audacity to crash the moment the mic monitor or Record is selected, and
I'm pretty sure it shouldn't cause random loud noise the first time it's
run either! This shouldn't be listed as invalid, just slightly better
specified.

Apologies for the late reply, I've only just spotted your Email. I confirm
Audacity is working fine for me now with the latest Karmic release. Two
things have improved things for me on my Lenovo S10e Netbook. I've installed
the Gnome ALSA Mixer, this has given full control over the internal
Dave, can you please let us know if you are able to reproduce the
problem in karmic latest? if yes, please set the status back to NEW.
