information, what program/command was running in the terminal when this
message appeared? Or did gnome-terminal just print this message out by
itself?

I had run gnome-shell from the terminal to try it out for the first
time, and after running it for 20min or so I wanted to get back to my
normal gnome environment. I couldn't find a way to do that in the GUI,
so I pressed ctrl-c in the terminal. It switched beautifully back to my
