Thank you for your bug report. However, this is a problem with the package Simon (as provided by Simon's upstream - this package is not in Ubuntu), which includes a modified copy of Julius installing the files in the same place as the original Julius, so trying to install both gives a conflict.

Attempting ongoing updates in an attempt to configure wine and believe this may be result of one of my many attempts--just found the bug sitting right under my nose, and don't really know how I missed it! As I recall, I did attempt a package update somewhere about that time, which failed, after
