I have upgraded to the new lms and got the new dac's, both of which had no effect! As a last ditch fix i thought i would change the tts voice, to my surprise it works! I havent had chance to look at exactly why but ill look tonight in more detail and post back. Thank you for your posts

i will check the logs this evening. a quick google session uncovered the name X-CD-Roast http://forum.tinycorelinux.net/index.php?topic=8469.0 which appears to relate to the cdda2wav software. Also im getting hits on cdparanoia(which seems arm supported)
