Post an internal photo of it without the cover if you get a chance.
That's one thing that I dislike about most of these single board
computers - that they don't have all of their connectors on the
backplane.

OK, thanks, it should be here
The issues are not with the playback driver, but there are input drivers
loaded by the overlay that are dependent that may need to be added to
the standard distribution.

It looks nice, but just to ensure that everybody reading this realizes
the obvious - the case is made of aluminium, so it shields from
radiowaves, i.e. you can't use wi-fi or bluetooth. Since the USB port is
there, you can plug in some external wi-fi or bluetooth device, if
needed.

Great news. Excellent.

Tip. Once you have assembled the sub frame try it in the case both ways
around. It appears to be either / or but the faceplates sit slightly

No HAT space. USB only (or HDMI if you are that way inclined). There is
access to SD card (a case variant exists where it is not accessible).
Torx screws as stated.
The case comes with a sub frame and all the fitting components along
with the conversion board that realigns the hdmi and power

It's already listed in the Raspbian "README" for the overlays

Looks like the screws are Torx. I doubt that those of us that use a HAT
audio card on our Pi's will be able to use this case.

A new pCP release is always good news. 4.19 is said to be a big one,
although not without some
Lets keep the conversation here. The issue I have with support is that
I don't have hardware, and since input source has no interest to me from
a usage standpoint, I'm not just going to go buy hardware.

Can you fit a HAT in there?
Is there a slot for the SD card, or do you remove the face plate?
What sort of screws are those?
Thanks

We are soon to release a 4.19.y based kernel for pCP 5.0. I'm sure we
could do something with this card for input, but without hardware, it is
very hard to develop a solution.

That does look rather good. Bookmarked in case I build another Pi based

Hi there.
A small update regarding bullet 1. of my last post.
On the 3B+ I do run onboard Wifi nowadays. The Wifi part has been
seriously improved on the 3B+.
If you'd then run a USB DAC, you'll get rid of the shared use of the
USB-ethernet interfaces. Which is really nice!
Wifi connects
Perhaps like many I find the cases available for a Pi to be a bit ugly,
very plastic and I particularly dislike the ports being all on different
sides.
I have just built a new Pi based player which is going to use a USB DAC
using this new little black aluminium case which features a clever add
Thank you, I put my questions in the PCP 4.0 thread and hope for
positive answers.

running. If now the plugin is installed and a favorite created, PCP will
play the music from my preamp. Right?

I have a Pi that is already dedicated to that role but mine streams in
FLAC using a Liquidsoap script and an Icecast server. It uses a
Behringer UCA202 as its ADC.
I am sure you can add this in to PiCorePlayer but its not trivial and
why would they do so now just because Hifiberry have built
