Also, this is the pCP 4 thread.
If you are using that version then have a think about moving to pCP 7.
It won't change anything related to this incident but could help with
future queries.

You are a genius - I'd checked ALSAMIXER and it showed 0.00 or 100%,
then just to humour you I ran it again and noticed F6 : Select sound
card -
well, there are 2, the Master and the Digital, so I up-arrowed and we
have sound !
