If I understand correctly, you want to run LMS (server) on both of the
RPis? For most people, one server can be used to
It have no idea too, but I will offer a suggestion. Check the logs in
your router for something that might help identify the issue. Perhaps
it is not renewing the IP address lease?

Why not have the network timing protocol turned on by default?
Especially if it is helpful for running LMS or using a clock feature.
Those that want to turn it off for some reason could override the
default setting.

Nice feature. I recommended spelling out NTPD for those that don't know
the abbreviation. Adding "recommended when running LMS so it has
accurate time" would also be helpful.

I reported this same issue several months ago and I could not figure out
the resolution of the permission to delete the image file. My solution
was also to remove the drive from the pi, connect to windows machine,
and delete it.
Unless space is an issue you can keep a chronological history
I recently updated my router and I wanted to use http://picorelms.local
to get to picoreplayer version 8 from my Windows 10 laptop, using Edge.
All I get is a blank page. The icon on the tab changes to include the
pCP logo so it is doing something. Connecting using the ip address
works fine.

Is that why you recommend a new install instead of an update! ;) Just
joking.
Seriously, thank you for all your hard work and help!!!

This wont help you right now, but it can in the future if you need to
set-up a new SD Card. There is a PcP version 7.0.1 (not sure if that

My low-tech solution to delete the extra SD Card backup files was to
shut down the Pi, remove the USB hard drive, and connect it to my
Windows 10 machine. No problem deleting the files.
My guess, which is probably not quite right, is the "Create File Mode"
code 0775 that is mentioned in the

I am accessing the USB Drive connected to Pi3B+ running pCP v 7.0.1 and
running Samba from a Windows 10 machines (I tried the desktop and
laptop and got the same message.)
I set up the mounting of the USB
Thank you for the follow-up.
I have a related issue. I am trying to delete the extra files located
on the USB drive at "/mnt/LMSfiles/images/"
I am using my Windows 10 computer to access the USB drive and I am
getting the message:
"You require permission form Unix User\root to make changes to
I was able to recreate the issue of multiple SD card image files being
created with only *one *click of the Create SD Card image. I removed
pigz.tcz and then accessed pCP via my iPad.

a series of dots that appear which

Six of the files were the same file size (1,951,244,422 bytes). If it
was a multi-file archive, then would they be the same size?

I did the minor update from PCP 7.0.0 to 7.0.1 to use the backup SD Card
feature. (Thanks to GaryM on another thread.) The first time I saved
the file it took (what I thought, more about that later) a half hour to
write the file. I saw the note about pigz.tcz, so I installed that
extension,
Thank you for adding information on SD cards for PiCore, that will be
helpful for people deciding what to buy.
I have been looking at the various settings and saw the Security button
on the PiCore main page. It is using the default Id and password. I am
curious, when is the id and password
I solved my prior problem with the mounted hard drive constantly
spinning. The problem was with the Seagate drive. I shut down LMS, and
then later shut down Samba, and the Seagate drive would not stop
spinning. I replaced the Seagate drive with my Toshiba drive and it
stops spinning when I am
Two weeks ago I installed PiCore 6.1 & LMS 8.0 on a 3B+ and it was
working fine. I followed the instructions on the documentation, and the
only issue I had was I could not transfer the LMS data and cache files
to the USB hard drive. (Perhaps because drive was Fat32, but that is a

Last week, I installed picCore 6.1.0, and running LMS v8. After a few
minor issues, I have it up and running and I can communicate with the
3B+. I see there is a new version of 7.0.0 and I am wondering if I
should upgrade. On the first post of this thread, I clearly understood
the following:
I went into LMS tab, Samba settings, and changed the Server Workgroup
field to WORKGROUP which matches the name (and case) on my windows 10
machine. I backed up the pi and shutdown and restarted. I rebooted my
Windows 10 laptop. I did not see the PiCoreLMS under the Network in the
