Ok, so I think I probably had a trailing space, which I fixed but still
experienced the empty directory browser issue. A full scan fixed it
however. I still don't understand why I could always see and play the
files via the artist option? To me if it was a mysql issue, it would
have caused issues

I was just referring to the cache files broadly, ie, the contents of
the folder you see when you look at the SBS web ui under Settings >

Last time I've checked the directories with trailing spaces in a name
have a row in a table with the content type of unknown. Even if the
directory name is cor

No. "Music Folder" is the only browse mode that doesn't use the
database. Instead it reads straight from the OS.
