Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Squeezecenter/Slimserver on OpenFiler

2009-03-29 Thread w7r

An update for those interested. Completely scrubbed machine, fresh
install and update OF v2.3(64bit)then installed SC v7.3.2 and still
kept getting the segfault when attepting to start slimserver.pl.

Decided that life was too short (I just want to set-up and use my new
SB Duet)and attempted an installation of Vortex box which failed
complaining about not being able to open display during the
installation so gave up on that.

Decided to go Ubuntu 8.10 server, Webmin, mdadm, LVM, samba, iSCSI, etc
plonked on SC7 and viola I've now got 2.7TB of RAID5 to hold my music,
DVDs etc. It's early days but at least it's progress. I haven't given
up on the OF route entirely but will have a crack on a VM at my
leisure.

Thanks to all those that responded and see you on the forums!

cheers, W7R

[SlimDevices: Unix] Long delay before music starts playing

2009-03-29 Thread tingtong5

Hi all,

Everytime when I turn on my Transporter is takes at least a minute
before music starts playing. During this time mysql process is using
all cpu time.

I have this issue already for two years or so but now I would like to
solve it ;-)

Currently I am running squeezecenter 7.4 but the problem was already
there with squeezecenter 7.2 or earlier.

I tried to remove the cache directory but then squeezecenter would not
start anymore.

Any tips on how to cleanup my existing squeezecenter installation and
to get rid of this annoying issue?

Thanks.

Ronald

[SlimDevices: Unix] SqueezeCenter on OpenSUSE 11.1 PPC

2009-03-29 Thread Guymac

I'm trying to run on a G4 mac with opensuse linux. SqueezeCenter dies
mysteriously after some Perl warnings [readdir attempted on invalid
dirhandle; can't call method log on undefined object]. I've tried the
7.3 and 7.2 rpms and also the source distribution. Is there any way to
get it going?

Version 7.3.1 dies around line 440 with the line where it calls the log
reInit method. If I comment that out it actually comes up!

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] segmentation fault

2009-03-29 Thread bpa

What version of perl are you using ?

SC works best with 5.8.8. If it is 5.8.8 - re-install it to make sure
you did not have a corrupted perl install.
