Yes, I assumed it must have worked for you, but I couldn't get the apt commands to work in the current version. But I just checked and they seem to be working now. Anyway, the Play Store version hasn't been updated since September, 2020. The version on F-Droid was updated two weeks ago. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Android Squeezelite
Many thanks for posting this! This is very good news for anyone who has wanted to use an Android device as a player, without having access to the Google Play Store. I'll stick with SB Player on my phone, but I also have a few Android tablets and old phones that don't have access to the Play Store, and this is just what they have needed. The catch is that Termux only supports Android 7 and above, so some old devices will miss out. I just tried this on my current phone, and it works. Now, a few quibbles. The Termux readme at https://github.com/termux/termux-app#installation says, > Termux and its plugins are no longer updated on Google Play Store due to > android 10 issues and have been deprecated. The last version released > for Android >= 7 was v0.101. It is highly recommended to not install > Termux apps from Play Store any more. Current options are to install from F-Droid of Github, and directions are given at the URL posted above. Additionally, there was a change in Termux package management in May of 2021. Existing installations of Termux that have not already updated to the new package management mirrors since then will need to be updated before they can install Squeezelite. Details are at https://github.com/termux/termux-packages/wiki/Package-Management . Also, Termux uses pkg commands instead of apt and apt-get. If the apt commands don't work for you, try pkg update, followed by pkg install squeezelite. That's what worked for me. One more thing: I like Hacker's Keyboard, but I usually prefer AnySoft keyboard with the SSH language pack. It also provides access to all ctrl and alt key combinations. However, Termux provides access to most of the extra keys you need, so it may not be necessary to switch away from your preferred keyboard. Enough quibbles! The important thing is that squeezelite is now available for many Android devices. LMS 8 nightly running on Raspberry Pi OS. Mostly virtual players, occasionally with SB Radio, Boom or Classic. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] Jivelite on Alpine Linux
I looked at those attached APKBUILD files again, and while functional, I've learned a bit more about what the Alpine devs look for in a user contributed package and if I submitted those as-is I'd be sent packing. I really should clean those up some and re-post them. sodface's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=19057 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=111488 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Capacitive screen rely on moisture in the skin. Some screens have difficulty with people with dry/cold skin also often older people. Check if this the problem by using as stylus (or gloves with special tips), wetting your finger, use moisturising cream, get hands warm etc. bpa's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1806 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115823 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer on pi zero 2 - possible touch improvements?
It depends on what is causing it. My guess is a sensitivity or touch threshold issue. Running the ts_test program should show you the touch data and then you have to decide. piCorePlayer a small player for the Raspberry Pi in RAM. Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] PiCorePlayer on pi zero 2 - possible touch improvements?
I used ts_calibrate for calibration. I observed that sometimes I had to touch twice until accepted. With ts_test_mt I could see that the calibration was very good. With ts_test every touch was accepted. In the jevelite menu it feels that the systems hangs sometimes for 0.5 - 1 seconds. If a touch is done in that time, it seems that the touch is seen as "long" touch and the context menu opens. I don't know with which parameter I should start changing for this issue. andre1210's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=72510 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=115823 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
