Try changing the file names to remove these special characters.
Remember that Squeezecenter gets its database values for song title,
etc, from the tags and not the filenames (except, possible if you only
navigate by folders rather than scanning and using the Albums, Artists
or Genre to select

As a substantial proportion of my music has accented characters, I'd
really prefer not to simply wipe them out (besides, it would be very
time consuming). If push came to shove, I'd disable MusicIP, but after
the considerable work involved setting that up, I'd rather not.

I think I've found the issue, if not the solution. I noticed that the
problem is common to files which have accented characters.
So the files from artists like Sérgio Mendes, Röyksopp and others
won't play (although they used to!).
