Consultant will serve a traditional Business Systems Analyst role, gathering requirements, writing functional specs, and serving as a liaison with the business groups. However, the position is also data intensive and consultant should have strong SQL skills as well (complex queries, identifying patterns, etc.). Person needs to know their way around a large database and any prior data analysis background would be a huge plus). Consultant will lead a number of requirements sessions and periodically sit-in with the business. Also, they will be attempting to capture the essence of manual processes and automate them.
