Position: Oracle Database Administrator
Location: Austin, TX
Duration: 12 months +
Client: TEA / State of TX
Description:
All work products resulting from the project shall be considered
“works made for hire” and are the property of the TEA. TEA may
include pre-selection requirements that potential Vendors (and their
Workers) submit to and satisfy criminal background checks as
authorized by the Texas law. TEA will pay no fees for interviews or
discussions, which occur during the process of selecting a Worker(s).
Worker(s) will perform highly complex (senior-level) database
administration work in an Oracle RAC environment using ASM on a Linux
O/S. Coordinates, plans, maintains, and monitors integrated database
systems. Will design, set-up, and implement database backup
procedures using existing agency processes to ensure data integrity.
Establishes and implements necessary database security standards and
controls. Performs database performance monitoring, implements
efficiency improvements, and modifies existing databases and database
management systems. Will coordinate and install security and other
patches for Oracle and ASM.
II. WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
8 Tuning SQL statements to improve performance and to suggest ways to
make code easier to maintain
8 Writing and maintaining shell scripts to support database functions
4 Oracle Database administration using RAC and ASM
4 Using UNIX operating system
4 Installing Oracle database patches and ASM patches
4 Oracle database configuration and performance tuning
2 Oracle grid control with Oracle 10g or higher
Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
4 Oracle 10g and/or 11g
4 Linux operating system
Oracle Exadata administration
