Mainframe Position with State of Idaho 2+ Years Contract Boise, ID Specific Skills Required (Programming languages, databases, operating systems, etc.) 1. 5 years mainframe programming experience, including, Developing, reading and understanding COBOL programs and data dictionaries; Understanding of data type storage concepts and data communication between disparate systems; Programming of major enhancement features and bug fixes to existing systems. 2. Ability to communicate technically (verbally and in writing) with other developers, system architects and technical managers is crucial. 3. Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) with non-technical business subject matter experts, stakeholders and project managers for clarifications, to define rules, and to provide explanations is critical. 4. Prior experience with the following systems is a must, including Work ticket management system – LanDesk; Datacom database; Gener/OL CICS application generation system; Panvalet and Roscoe development environments; Datapoint experience highly desired 5. A minimum of 6 months working on ITD DMV's existing mainframe applications.
