Job Title : SAS GRID Technical Architect Customer Location : Indianapolis IN Contract Duration : 6 months (with possible 6 month extension) *DESCRIPTION and RESPONSIBILITIES:* SAS is seeking a full time TECHNICAL ARCHITECT to work with our customer, a large sized pharmaceutical company in the Indianapolis IN area. The consultant will be responsible for the following: Utilizes deep knowledge of SAS technology, architecture and resources. Applies knowledge of software or applications development life cycle. Employ best practices for SAS server software to support hundreds of users (SAS Enterprise Guide and SAS Display Manager/PC SAS) from multiple departments/division. Provide oversight, administration, and support of the SAS GRID environment. Evaluates and coordinates implementation needs of SAS applications. Assesses potential application of SAS products to meet customer needs. Provides follow-up support in disseminating technical information on specific SAS applications. Helps to ensure that the customer maximizes the value of their SAS usage. Acts as the strategic advisor to SAS users and customer IT management. Builds trust with SAS users, helping to promote and maintain the integrity of the IT/business unit relationship. Seek to identify business users’ pains, and setting priorities on specific action items. Documents how SAS is being used while periodically recommending changes or enhancements. Promotes use of SAS technology, solutions and resources (consulting, technical support, training, conferences) available to ensure optimal use and customer satisfaction. Planning the deployment of new SAS technologies. The consultant must have senior level experience configuring and administering multiple tier SAS environments, including GRID environments. The customer has licenses for several SAS products and solutions. *QUALIFICATIONS – ESSENTIAL* 10+ years of experience overall, supporting and implementing SAS BI and analytics software suites. 5 years of experience doing SAS administration. 3 years of experience administering SAS GRID. Experience installing and configuring SAS software, implementing hotfixes, and software patches. Experience monitoring and troubleshooting SAS services. Experience with SAS Management Console – adding identities, defining libraries, setting permissions and access controls, creating metadata folder structures. Experience with migration of metadata objects through the traditional DEV/TEST/PROD lifecycle. Knowledge and Administration implementation experience with core SAS software, including: o Supporting hundreds of users with Foundation SAS and SAS Enterprise Guide o SAS/SHARE o SAS/ACCESS to various relational databases o SAS SPDS o SAS Grid Experience administering SAS within AIX, Linux, and Windows OS environments. Experience with CITRIX. Experience with UNIX and Linux Shell scripting. Competence in Microsoft Office. QUALIFICATIONS – PREFERRED Knowledge of the following SAS products: o SAS Drug Development o SAS Clinical Data Integration o SAS Marketing Operations Management o SAS Data Integration Studio o SAS/ACCESS Interface to Hadoop o SAS In-Memory Statistics o SAS Enterprise Miner Experience in the pharmaceutical Industry preferred, but not required. Good written and spoken communication skills in English. Candidates will be required to take a drug screening and criminal background check.
