This is @ Rochester, MN – 1 + Year contract I need H1B copy / SSN/ DOB/ 2 Professional references. *Job Description*:* Senior Sybase Database Administrator Under general supervision and guidance, the Senior IT Systems DBA is responsible for the maintenance and support of moderately complex Database systems software at multiple client sites. Actively monitor and respond to technical database problems utilizing diagnostic testing tools and techniques as well as assist in managing overall database capacity. Interface with vendor support service groups or other external support teams to ensure proper escalation during outages or periods of degraded system performance. Expected is required to produce and maintain documentation such as systems requirements, designs, resource inventories and plans as requested by the work unit leadership. Develops proposals that consider alternatives and business case gains needed for comprehensive institutional consideration. Works effectively across departmental organizations gaining consensus of stakeholders. Work is reviewed upon completion for quality, timeliness, and adequacy in meeting objectives. Ability to take responsibility and accountability for own activities. Possesses ability to multi-task and prioritize issues appropriately. Must possess human relations skills to interact with a variety of personnel. Evidence of strong communication & organizational skills. Evidence of project management skills. Evidence of strong communication, meeting management and organizational skills. Performs consulting tasks, acts as an information resource and mentor in a supportive role. Description: - Design, model, configure, test, and install Sybase databases in the test, development and production environments. - Perform and troubleshoot database backup, recovery, capacity, and security plans. - Administer, maintain, and implement changes to existing databases to meet Customer requirements. - Respond to test and production database problems and implement immediate resolution efforts across technology areas. - This resource will be working on mission critical applications that are required to fly. Experience: - 5 + years professional work experience as a Sybase Database Administrator providing production support. - Sybase version 15.7 experience required. - 5 + years experience with replication. - Unix shell scripting experience is required. Most be able to write their own shell scripts. - Strong experience with documentation and putting together monitoring reports. - Must have experience performing Sybase upgrades.
