*UX Developer/Consultant* *Richmond, VA* *6+ Months* 7+ years of experience doing work on journey/experience maps, web usability and information architecture in an agency or corporate environment. Experience planning, observing, or conducting qualitative and quantitative user research, with an understanding of the best approach to use at various stages of the product lifecycle. Wireframing and prototype development with Axure. Proficient with usability tools, such as Morae, card sorting, subjective ratings scales, and timed tests. Exceptional verbal, visual, and written communication skills *Responsibilities* Design and conduct research that improves understanding of customer experience. Work with varying areas of the organization to create journey/experience maps by conducting interviews, analyzing analytics and facilitating workshops. Participate in usability research, including writing test plans, recruiting participants, moderating/observing studies, and summarizing study results. Conduct usability studies on proposed and existing web sites and web-based tools. Develop personas, user stories, content maps, and wireframes to drive a user-centered experience. Work closely, collaboratively, and iteratively with all members of a web user experience team, including web copywriters, interactive designers, web developers, and testing teams. *Optional Skills and Experience* * UX-oriented experience with mobile Web sites and/or apps, particularly in making desktop browser-based sites “mobile friendly.”* Subject matter expertise in *WCAG 2.0, Section 508, ADA, other accessibility laws and standards. * Experience with responsive and/or touch-based experiences. Market research experience such as surveys, persona interviews, and focus groups.
