*Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS)*



The Division of Juvenile Justice and Opportunities for Youth (DJJOY)
Juvenile Justice Information System (JJIS) is a web-based application using
.Net technology. It tracks juvenile justice youth through detention
facilities into OCFS placement where they go through Intake, Residential,
and CMSO (community multi-service organizations) programs and services, and
also provides an automated financial/billing module. It includes a
sub-system, the Automated Restraint Tracking System (ARTS), to track
restraints at juvenile justice facilities as well as foster care voluntary
agencies. Beginning September 2012 the system also supports the Close to
Home initiative with a module used by NYC to track certain information
about juvenile justice youth in their custody. During 2013 a new system has
been added to support the Detention Risk Assessment Instrument (DRAIS).
This system provides support to local probation and social services
departments to create the assessment online with information from the
Office of Court Administration.



*The current schedule through 2015 includes but it is not limited to:*

·         Dental record module, DSM V implementation

·         Detention Reportable Incidents

·         Facility Director Proceeding tracking

·         Substance Abuse module, interface with CONNECTIONS

·         Medicaid reimbursement

·         Upgrade of all systems to newer technology

·         DJJOY dashboard.



*For 2016, the following modules will be added:*

·         Contact notes for outside providers

·         County level access to JJIS

·         EbCi tracking

·         Alternative to detention initiative

·         OCFS and detention Room confinement reports as well as multiple
enhancements across all systems.



*Daily Tasks will include but are not limited to the following: *

·         Work in coordination with a team of developers to expand the
current system.

·         Work with Business Analyst on analysis and logical design.

·         Perform unit testing and correct all identified bugs.

·         Perform complex VB.Net coding in a CSLA environment.

·         Assist with responding to Juvenile Justice data requests.

·         The individual in this position will work under the direction of
a Technical Lead/Project Manager.

·         Perform writing of complex stored procedures/triggers in an
Oracle database utilizing PL/SQL.



*PART A:  The ONE MANDATORY REQUIREMENT:*

*Senior Level *

You must be a Senior Developer / VB.Net, PL/SQL with documented employment
experience of 5-7 years (60-84 months).

-  You must have experience with analysis, design, coding, component and
assembly testing of all application code owned by the Application Team.
Maintenance (Including production support), enhancement and development
work.  Write     application software, data analysis, data access, data
structures, data manipulation, databases, design, programming, testing and
implementation, technical and user documentation, software conversions.

- You must be able to work without assistance and can provide leadership
for others; may have advanced education.



*PART B:   Requested Desirable  Qualifications:*  The numbered
qualifications below are not mandatory, but candidates should meet or
exceed in duration and skill set target asked for, at least 5 of numbers 1
through 9.
