Position: Operations Monitoring Consultant (Linux or UNIX)

Duration: 3+ Months

Location: Mooresville, NC

*Job Description:*

•Needed to support role while current Staff member is on extended Leave of
Absence

•Shift expectation is night shift 7pm-7am with rotational OCC shift

•Operates analytical program to identify potential errors and
incompatibility

•Analyzes issues and formulates solution alternatives that meet defined IT
or business problem

•Documents and communicates incidents: priority, symptom, business impact,
status, and resolutions

•Creates incident reports to document exceptions to normal or scheduled
activities, including hardware and software failures

•Communicates, collaborates and provides clear and concise reports as
necessary to management per published policies and procedures and the ITIL
framework

•Notifies management of any issues that may affect availability

•Communicates effectively to gather and disseminate turnover to incoming
and outgoing shifts

•Efficiently operates the console management facilities, including
communication with the operating systems, storage, online applications,
security, and network monitoring systems

•Operates, monitors, and supports business critical development, test, and
quality assurance systems

•Participates in the Disaster Recovery exercises for IT Computer Operations

•Monitors, troubleshoots, and corrects server, network, or live network
broadcasting incidents

•Interrogates alert status and infrastructure security to respond with
appropriate action

•Participates to maintain network, systems, security, and large systems
availability

•Demonstrate proficiency in IT Service Management disciplines and toolsets
necessary to maintain and protect the availability of the computing systems
as required

•Actively demonstrates leadership in their technical or operations specialty

•Attends inter- and intra-department staff meetings as needed

•Supports Service Level Agreements and provides SLA reporting as necessary

•Works the hours and schedule required to support the enterprise and may be
on call and/or work alternate schedules to meet the needs of the department

*Requirements:*

*•WebSphere MQSeries, Websphere Application Server, LDAP, Database
Administration*

*•Red hat certification desired but not necessary*
