Position Overview:
The Crystal Report (XI/2008 & higher) Writer (Developer) / SQL DBA will be
primarily responsible for the development of complex reporting solutions. This
individual is responsible for any and/or all phases of a reports life cycle
including analysis, design, development, deployment along with extensive
debugging
capabilities. This individual must be strong in T-SQL, ETL & Crystal Report
Development. Crystal Report Writer/Developer will also be responsible for all
phases of a databases life cycle with preference to SQL 2008 R2.
Responsibilities:
Gather Reports requirements, Develops, Edit & Fix Crystal Reports based on
the gathered information from business
Design and Implement ETL with SSIS for reporting data feed.
Apply application (NextGen) patches as required.
Develops technical standards, ensures compliance and provides database & report
management expertise to the software development and support teams.
Assess, applies and implements new database technologies on assigned projects.
Plans, develops and manages database installations, upgrades and operations.
Responsible for tracking individual project tasks and meeting required
deadlines.
Conducts presentations to professional peers and communicates with colleagues,
and management on requirements, problems, project status and issues.
Testing new systems;
Maintaining data standards, including adherence to the Data Protection Act;
Writing database documentation, including data standards, procedures and
definitions
for the data dictionary ('metadata')
Controlling access permissions and privileges;
Training users if required.
Meeting users' access requirements and resolving their problems;
Task Automation & Capacity planning;
Relationships
Works under general direction of IT management.
Interfaces directly with end users, other software developers, project leaders
and managers, and industry colleagues.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5-7 years of experience in Crystal Report Writing.
3 years of experience in managing, developing and deploying RDBMS-based
business
systems using MS SQL Server of which at least 1 year of experience in MS SQL
2008 R2.
Must have extensive experience with Stored Procedures
Extensive experience with ETL, SSIS packages
Knowledge of any MS SQL tool monitoring (like Idera SQL DM, SQLsafe) is
desirable.
Plan, implement and document disaster recovery and standard recovery processes.
Working knowledge of IIS
Knowledge and experience with Data modeling tools including Erwin.
Individual must be very detailed and be able to multi-task.
Strong problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills.
This individual must be strong in T-SQL programming.
