** Hi I have an urgent requirement given below in *San Rafael, CA*.* *if you are interested for this position, please send me your updated resume. · *Job Title –* *Deployment Engineer – Linux Admin* · *Duration – *2+ years for contractors / Full time is an option too. · *Location –* San Rafael, CA *• Apache & Tomcat Web Servers * *• Apache virtual hosting * *• Setting up multiple apache (Virtual hosting) and tomcat instances on single server * *• SSL certificate installation and configuration (Public, Private and in Java Keystore) * *• Load balancers * *• Apache tomcat connector ( Mod_Jk, ProxyPasss etc) * *• Iptables firewall * *• DB connectivity and Basic DDL, DML commands etc. * *• DNS, NTP, OpenSSH, OpenSSL etc. * *• TCP/IP handshaking * *• SSH tunnel/port forwarding Etc* * Skills – Required and Desired * * Must be extremely familiar with computer networking and network protocols, such as FTP, telnet, HTTP(S), and SSH; proxies; and firewalls. * Familiar with Cisco VPN concentrators and Pix firewalls. * Familiar with basic load balancer technology. Understanding of F5 load balancers is a plus. * Excellent shell and perl scripting skills * Must have a basic understanding of relational database concepts such as table joins, indexes, data types, etc. * Is self-motivated; will work well autonomously and within a team environment. * Requires a working knowledge of trouble-shooting and problem resolution methodologies and also have the ability to develop, in a short period of time, intermediate working knowledge of company applications, production support policies and procedures. * Ability to work multiple tasks simultaneously to completion. * A strong dedication to World Class Customer Service, strong management skills and hands-on capabilities. * * *EXPERIENCE* * Professional Services in large scale infrastructure deployments in the Financial industry. Background as a customer-facing consultant is highly desired * Experienced in designing, deploying, troubleshooting, and tuning Linux systems in a medium to large enterprise environment. * A Degree in the Computer Science, or Information Technology discipline. * 5-7 yrs experience as Red Hat Linux systems administrator - at least three in a senior role. * 3+ years’ experience with Apache/Tomcat in a Unix/Linux environment * 3+ years working with SQL databases: Oracle 10i, MsSQL * * *Roles and responsibilities * • Support changes to existing hardware and OS Linux infrastructure including patches, users, filesystems, and kernel parameters. • Troubleshoot hardware and OS problems including performance tuning. • Work with database and application teams to gather requirements for new projects and expansion to existing applications. • Deliver Linux servers for new applications and services. • Perform hardware and OS capacity planning for existing services and provide recommendations to application owners. • Support existing server infrastructure in an on-call capacity as part of a team rotation. • Provide basic to intermediate technical production/applications support and assistance for Financial Institutions - Financial Institutions Enterprise class customers. • Provides feedback and shapes production support procedures, policies and documentation where none exist or where they are stale and need to be updated. • Efficiently organizes and addresses multiple production issues, customer requests and inquiries from several sources, delegating when appropriate.
