*Main Responsibilities*

Core services engineer for a state-of-the-art virtual and augmented reality
platform and other

project, work with Architects, QA and other engineers, take direction from
Product and Team

management, to implement new features, resolve bugs, perform performance
tuning and

handle maintenance requests. As a Senior Engineer, you need to have a
strong understanding

of OOP principles, performance bottlenecks and familiarity with modern Web
and BackEnd

Development concepts.

You will help mentor other engineers, contribute to team discussions and
conducts analysis to

properly prioritize development tasks with management. Have a positive and
helpful attitude,

with a focus on improving systems and working with others.



*General Responsibilities*

• Design web services and web applications, support applications under
development,

and customize current applications.

• Assist with the software update process for existing applications, and
roll-outs of

software releases.

• Tests and manages project deployments and production releases.

• Design, implement, and maintain database through environments.

• Configure and maintain AWS components (Route 53, CloudFront, S3 buckets,
Apache

and Tomcat on EC2 instance).

• Develop and maintain system integrations as necessary.

• Provide technical leadership throughout the design process and guidance
with regards

to practices, procedures and techniques.

• Conduct analysis to properly prioritize development tasks with management.

• Guide and mentor junior-level engineers.

• Executes tests to compare results with requirements, to verify test
requirements, to

identify defects, and to ensure compliance.

• Participates in product feature discussions and proactively identify
areas for testing.

• Work closely with development, QA, and DevOps to ensure thorough testing
of bug fixes

and new features.

• Providing input into new technologies and techniques, as well as
participate in the

development of proof of concepts and best practices.

• Troubleshoot and debug Production issues as they arise.

• Provide Tier 2 and on-call support for Production issues as needed.



*Technical Skills*

Backend Technologies: J2EE, Spring Framework, Hibernate, AWS (EC2, S3,
CloudFront, RDS,

Route 53, CloudWatch, SQS, SNS), Jackson (JSON processing), Servlets,
Jetty, Apache, Tomcat,

JDBC, SQL

Frontend Technologies: JSP, JavaScript, Ajax

Other Tools: Linux, Git, SVN, UML, Confluence, Jira, WebMethod, Splunk,
Elastic Search,

Jenkins, Wowza



*Required Experience*

4+ years Java development (J2EE, Core Java or other)

4+ years providing production support on cloud environments

4+ years with Spring/Hibernate/MVC and similar frameworks

3+ years test experience with clear ability to deliver quality results on
time

2+ years AWS component experience

2+ years using Splunk/ELK/other log monitoring tools

2+ years designing web services or applications using Apache, Tomcat,
Weblogic, Jetty or

similar tools

Experience and comfort working in Agile work environments
