Must have a thorough understanding of configuration management processes and patterns. Must be able to understand a project team’s configuration and build needs, and be capable of transforming those needs into practical processes. Must have some knowledge of management disciplines such as risk analysis, estimation, and metrics. Must have up to date knowledge of relevant technologies and available CM tools. Must also be able to promote the concept of configuration management within project teams and within the company itself. Must have a strong knowledge of ClearCase Multisite on both the user and administration levels and experience maintaining globally distributed code bases. Must have experience maintaining sizeable, diverse development environments. Responsible for the use and maintenance of tools to support configuration management. Has the overall responsibility for CM across multiple projects. Possesses the ability to cooperate with Engineers and Managers both within and outside of project teams. Actively participates as Configuration Manager within agile project teams. Responsible for daily build and release activities for a diverse range of products developed on Windows, Linux, Java, and embedded platforms. Will work with local and global project teams to coordinate build schedules and provide quality builds to internal and external customers. Produces detailed release notes and handles release notifications. Implements, maintains, and improves the build environments for each product to keep up with engineering needs. Will have ownership of the build and release environments. Must design and maintain automated procedures using Perl, Python, Make, and ANT scripts across environments. Integrates source code into larger subsystems, concluding with at the system or platform level. Possesses the ability to recreate product versions for retesting during the product life cycle. Is responsible for identifying relevant configuration items including source, designs, and build scripts, then ensuring that these items are under proper CM control. Must have a general knowledge of the product requirements and operation, and comprehensive knowledge of the configuration items contained within. Contributes to the auditing of configuration items. Ensures that change items planned in a release for a release are in fact implemented within the release. Will be responsible for assisting in the administration of ClearCase Multisite.
