*Job Title*: *Cobol Developer* *Location: Atlanta, GA* *Duration: 6+ Months* *Department:Information Technology* *Reports to*:Software Developer Manager *Direct reports*: 0 *Indirect reports:*0 *FLSA Status:*Exempt* Grade:*26 *Overview:* Wencor has an immediate opportunity for a Software Developer with 8+ years of specific experience programming in COBOL and 3+ years’ experience in various other languages (PHP, Perl, Java, J2EE, Javascript, CSS, XML, etc .) This is a unique opportunity for a Developer to lead a legacy system modernization project – creating distributed and scalable applications that are site, platform and device agnostic. The Developer will lead/participate with team members to improve business processes through new (modern) software, maintain and enhance existing software, and evaluate third-party applications/tools as required by end users, departments & business units. Utilizing Software Development Lifecycle Methodologies, the Developer will perform/lead program design, coding, system integration, development and execution of test plans, documentation and change management. The ideal candidate must be competent working in an Agile/SCRUM environment; possess strong software development experience and skill set; have excellent written and verbal communication; demonstrate and maintain an understanding of business concepts; and exhibit a positive can-do attitude. You must be able to work effectively with all members of the company, from the CEO to the distribution staff. *Essential Duties and Responsibilities:* · Ability to work with End Users/Business Leader to gather business requirements and create software development plans in accordance with Agile/SCRUM principles. · Participate in aligning custom business software with company growth strategies, market trends, acquisitions, etc . . · Continuously improve software development methodologies, internal procedures and technical tools to provide best value to the company · Assist team in establishing development standards/best practices; enhance application design and interfaces. · Possess application and integration design methodologies, standards and best practices (SOA, OOAD) · Knowledgeable with industry standard processes (SDLC, Agile, Change Mgmnt, ITIL, etc · Understand full Software Development Lifecycle, build and deploy procedures, and quality control processes · Experience with Data warehousing design and data modeling · Technical and infrastructure architecture design experience *Qualifications:* *The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
