Title: System Admin IBM Infosphere and Oracle Location: New York, NY Duration: 6 month contract (possibility for extension) ******WILL CONSIDER PEOPLE WHO ARE NOT LOCAL AND NEED TO INTERVIEW BY PHONE OR SKYPE BUT THEY MUST WORK IN NEW YORK IF THEY GET THE POSITION****** *Description:* *System Administrator – IBM Infosphere and Oracle: *** *Overview:* ** The System Admnistrator – IBM Infosphere and Oracle has a detailed familiarity using IBM InfoSphere suite to perform administrative support of DataStage, QualityStage, InformationAnalyzer, Business Glossary, and Oracle database administrative support development effort and performance tuning of existing product databases. This role requires expertise in administering InfoSphere platform on an Unix/AIX environment, and extensive Oracle experience in database tuning, query tuning and data access optimizing. Key responsibilities are the following but not limited to: • Install/upgrade Information Server product suite on multi-tiered architecture and this administrative support includes DataStage, QualityStage, InfoAnalyzer, and Business Glossary. • Performance tuning, system backup and execution, creation and management of development and production Oracle schemas, indexes, databases, tables, exports, imports etc. • Implement procedures for maintenance, monitoring, troubleshooting, backup, and recovery operations for the suite and the ETL environment. • Reporting on health using audit tracing and ISA Lite and performance of the ETL environment and jobs. • Work with Infrastructure group on system optimization, troubleshooting, and debugging. • Apply fixes, patches and Service Packs as required and provided, keeping the InfoSphere environment up-to-date. • Strong knowledge of IBM-AIX operating systems and Websphere application servers. • Knowledge of managing Business Glossary, Metadata Workbench, Information Analyzer, and assist data stewards manage the business glossary content. • Manage metadata assets and troubleshoot issues with Business Glossary and resolve. • Trouble shoot issues with Information analyzer - Determine the datastage job execution and resolve. • Provide technical expertise, direction, and development support for the ETL development team as well as support to the developers coordinating with UNIX team, DBA team, Storage and Backup team & communicating with IBM support on troubleshooting platform issues. • Provide off-hours support to troubleshoot, capacity planning, and performance optimization. *Required Skills and Experience:* • In-depth knowledge of Oracle 10g/11g databases in an OLTP and Datawarehouse environment. • At least 5 Years of experience in administering InfoSphere platform on an UNIX/AIX environment. • Thorough understanding of the suites technical concepts and using Information Server manager, director, and IS tools. • Strong SQL, PL/SQL and UNIX scripting knowledge. • Experience in performance tuning, backup and recovery, and data loads with Oracle RDBMS 10g or higher. • Strong problem solving, analytical and interpersonal skills. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Strong team player with positive can do attitude. • Ability to work effectively on multiple tasks with competing priorities. • Knowledge in Oracle Enterprise Manager, TOAD, and enterprise scheduling tool is an advantage. -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "US_IT.Groups" group.
