JOB TITLE:            Window System Administrator

LOCATION :          NY-New York/New York City

DURATION:           4-6 Months

M.O.I:                    Telephonic + Face2Face
Primary responsibilities: *
• Day-to-day technical support of clients installed with TR Quant related
products.
• Support all technical aspects of the clients using distributed
environments - primarily Windows and Linux.
• Record tickets and service job requests by scheduling / executing tasks
within the "application constraints".
• Follow up to ensure the client's request is serviced in an appropriate
and timely manner
• Servicing the client's requests / issues can include working with other
Technical Resources within Data Centers; Network, etc.
• Escalate issues as appropriate
• Monitoring internal and client systems
• If not assigned primarily to this function, function as a backup on a
rotational basis
• Regular maintenance of infrastructure (e.g. Hardware support/OS patches
and upgrades) as well as application release implementation and
coordination for IT Support and other TQA teams.
• Off-hours support: Weekend/Evening/Holidays support in team rotation will
be required - if not assigned primarily to this function, function as a
backup on a rotational basis.
• On a request basis, provide in-person application installation support at
client site(s) as planned
• Work on assigned projects/tasks as assigned by the management and team
leader

*Qualifications *
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent desirable
• 6+ years of experience in a Microsoft Windows support environment
• 3+ years of experience in Unix/Linux systems administration with Perl
scripting
• 3+ years of experience maintaining Oracle 10g or newer databases
• 6+ years of experience supporting Windows desktop client applications
• 5+ years of experience troubleshooting LAN/WAN issues
• 2+ years of experience supporting MS SQL databases
• Help desk experience in a financial environment
• 1+ years of SQL Programming knowledge
• Oracle 10g RAC experience a plus
• C++ Programming a plus
• Motivated self-starter; can work with minimal supervision along side
other high energy team player and must be able work in extremely fast paced
environment
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to work in a fast-paced
"customer contact" area
