*Description of Role:
**We’re looking for a QA Consultant with strong technical skills to join
the team that is responsible for manual testing and some automated testing
of web services and database validation.
*This role is a demanding, highly dynamic, technically challenging position.
*You must be a top-notch quality assurance analyst, detail-oriented,
flexible, and eager to learn.
*The ideal candidate will have the ability to be a self-starter, learn on
the go and come up to speed on Redbox systems quickly with minimal
supervision.

*Responsibilities:
*• Create and execute manual test cases for web services; Understand new
features and accurately create test scenarios and expected results;
document overall testing status for releases, and communicate results and
recommendations to team.
• Maintain and update automated SoapUI regression tests suites for existing
web services.
• Write SQL queries in SQL Server databases to validate data entered by
service methods and to setup data for testing scenarios.
• Works with other IT and technology teams to refine technical
specifications for test analysis and quality assurance;
• Effectively communicate with developers and other QA analysts;
• Actively participate in team processes and use of methodologies,
including customized flavors of Agile;
• Log defects in defect tracking system and follow entered defects through
lifecycle of creation to resolution
• Follow all established Redbox QA policies and procedures.

*Required Skills:
*• Experience using SoapUI tool for performing web service calls, creating
SoapUI projects, adding assertions to validate responses; querying
databases using this tool.
• Solid understanding of software development life cycle, where QA and
testing fits in with that life cycle; knowledge of different types of
testing functional, regression, integration, smoke etc. Solid understanding
of defect management and experience following a defect through from
creation to closure.
• Strong SQL skills with MS SQL Server; Must be able to perform basic to
complex select statements with joins of multiple database tables and
perform update and insert to databases to create test data
• Strong written and verbal communication skills; Needs to be proactive and
assertive in getting the information needed to perform QA duties if
requirements are not completed defined.
• Ability and aptitude to learn quickly and work within a team environment
• Ability to keep up with a quickly changing environment of tasks and
priorities

*Preferred Skills
*• Experience using SoapUI to create a fully automated data driven suite of
test cases using Groovy script and assertions.

*Education/Experience: Minimum Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or
related area;
*• 5+ years experience in software quality assurance, preferably in an
Agile-like environment, with strong experience writing manual test cases
• 2-3 years of recent experience in testing web services, preferably with a
large scale transactional system that had multiple web services and each
service had multiple methods
• 2-3 years of recent experience with test automation. Understand the
general concepts of test automation, when and how it’s appropriate to use
test automation and how automation fits in with an overall quality
assurance processes
