Apple made a change to menus in, i thin, Sonoma? (+/- 1 release). This
broke menus in LC and any LC standalone on that version of macOS or
above. LC, Ltd had to release a new version of LC to fix the menu issue
so LC would run on versions higher than Sonoma. 9.6.3 is definitely
BEFORE this fix.

Try the following steps to install LiveCode:
From the Terminal
1. Remove the quarantine attribute from the downloaded DMG file: sudo
xattr -r -d com.apple.quarantine
~/Downloads/LiveCodeCommunity-9_6_3-Mac.dmg
2. Double-click the .dmg file. It will open like a virtual disk.

LiveCode opens, but then it closes immediately without showing any error
message.
