You've never had that thing happen where you brush up against the mouse and your very long script goes madly scrolling at top speed off into the ether in a direction you can't pinpoint because it happens so fast, careening completely out of control and losing your place, causing you to forget where you were in the code and you can't find it again for a minute, which makes you so furious that you say things you aren't supposed to say, and then your spouse feels guilty because they think they did something you don't like but they don't know what it was? Re: iOS voice-to-text
Alain Put Richard's code into an open card handler to make the native field appear when you first open the card. The rect of the field in his code is set to match the rect of a field named note - I do the same kind of thing because it lets you easily change the size and position of the native field just by changing the size and position of that field - and of course you need to set the visible of the field note to false. To delete the native field you would do: mobileControlDelete displayInput (using his example). You can also hide the native field with: mobileControlSet displayInput, visible, false. Hi all Is anyone successfully using Andre Garzia's FacebookLib library on mobile? I'm getting the following error when trying to log into Facebook from the demo mobile app, but using my app's key - previously this was all working: Given URL is not allowed by the Application configuration.: One or more of the given URLs is not allowed by the App's settings. It must match the Website URL or Canvas URL, or the domain must be a subdomain of one of the App's domains. I've tried to work out what the problem is - that error message is mentioned on Stackoverload and elsewhere but only in the context of web apps, not mobile. Ralph is referring to a method that involves changing some settings in a file in the LiveCode application package. That change stops iOS apps quitting when they are sent to the background. I went into the Mobile Support prefs, and the entire iOS SDKs pane was disabled and no SDKs were set. I peeked into the code a bit, and discovered that it's using the systemVersion in a couple places to determine which versions of OS X and SDKs are supported. Turns out, under Yosemite, the systemVersion returns 10.10.0, which of course, numbers-wise, is less than 10.6, 10.7, 10.8, etc. So the pane is getting disabled and it's impossible to set the path to any SDK. Re: mobilepick as a live list
Mike Kerner wrote: Ooh. I didn't think of that. So just make the DG visible? How do you disable all the other controls while the DG is up? In my case it's already visible (and it's not really being used as a pick list in the traditional sense) - it's a scrolling list of items on the left side of the iPad screen that the user can search and select (see https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/67170/dynamicList.jpg). The user enters search terms into the native text control above the data grid and it does a dynamic live search for records that match the entered text. If I needed to hide and show it and to disable all the other controls I might group all the elements with a full screen rectangle graphic at the back of the group and make the rectangle opaque but set it's blend to 100 - that way touches anywhere behind the group wouldn't get through. Re: mobile focus
iPhoneControlTarget() Gerry On 30 August 2014 13:26, Eric Corbett e...@canelasoftware.com wrote: Hi Mike, In my limited use of the native field on mobile, I have come across some key features. First, when you create the field, I would recommend creating each one in a separate control, like a desktop field to be used as a place holder. Here's the reason: inputBeginEditing inputTextChanged inputEndEditing inputReturnKey These messages are sent to the script that created the mobile field. Therefore, when more than one field is required on a card, I create a behavior and each dummy field uses the one behavior. Then at the appropriate time (openCard possibly), I send a dispatch to each field to create the appropriate field. I use switch statements in my create field handler to set the appropriate settings like mobileControlSet [control],keyboardType,[value]; returnKeyType,[value], etc. I also use a switch statement in inputReturnKey to determine what to do next. The switch cases become the short name of me since the object is the field and of course the desktop dummy field is named the same as the native mobile field. I guess each card would have a different behavior so the one script is not switching between too many fields. You could also create behaviors for specific groups, but the need to set the behavior of the dummy fields is the key, not setting the behavior of the group. One other option to try to create a mobileControlCreate library might be by to chain behaviors, but that's a complicated subject I am looking forward to hearing more about at the conference in Scott Rossi's 'Well Behaved Behaviors' talk. One other command to keep in mind is mobileControlDo. Specifically, mobileControlDo [control name or ID], focus. This will cause focus on the field and up comes the keyboard. On iOS, the keyboardActivated message is sent, but on Android, this feature is still broken. To take focus away, the only thing I know to do script wise is 'focus on nothing'. Maybe there's another way; I'll keep my eye on the thread to see who has more experience and a better idea. Re: iOS Provisioning Profiles - Dev vs. Production
Dan Is this the first release of the app? I had a situation where updates to an existing version were fine but new installs hung for users. Turned out that I'd introduced a bug that only affected users who didn't already have one of the files I copy from the binary to the device when the app is first launched. It must have passed Apple's testing because they tested it on the same device or simulator they'd used for the previous version. This is exactly what I did. But when downloaded from the App Store, the app crashes. Not just for me, but for everyone that installs the app. How could the app have passed the App Review process but crash on EVERY install on EVERY device when downloaded from the App Store? I keep thinking that it might be the version of LC (6.6.1) or XCode (5.1.1) I am using... but wouldn't the development version fail as well? Regardless of that, how could it pass App Review if the app crashes on launch? I have contacted Apple Developer Technical Support (using one of my 2 allotted support incidences), but they are just giving me the runaround. All I get from them are form responses. Check this, check that... all checks out. They don't seem to want to examine the specifics of my case. Some of what they want me to do I can't because the app was not compiled in XCode. Re: iOS Native browser kills native player
On further investigation the player is destroyed only if the URL of the page being loaded into the browser contains inline video or audio content and controls. Setting the browser control's allowsInlinePlayback property to false (which is documented as preventing inline media from playing) doesn't fix the issue. For that purpose, I’m using a couple of simple text files and a big SQLite database. The app has a library substack which is static and don’t alter during runtime; the mainstack has 23 cards which have several hundreds of controls and the majority of those controls are created on the fly since the content is dynamic. It’s kind of a news app. About the first part of your reply: I’ve thought this, too, after sending that last post. This is a standalone and there is no way to alter a digitally signed app, right? We can’t even set or create a new custom property during runtime on iOS. So, maybe this *ID’s constantly increasing* issue is related merely to the development environment. I should test this as soon as possible. If it is a datafile that you're including/modifying and you're creating so much from scratch each time, is it really necessary that it's a separate stack file? Can you somehow just save the last status in a text/data file and rebuild on startup? Deleting rows in dat grid forms
Hi all I have a delete button in the row template group of a data grid form. When the user touches there delete button I do this: deleteRecord the dgIndex of me ...and I handle that command in the card script with: on deleteRecord whichRow dispatch deleteline to group datagrid with whichRow end deleteRecord That deletes the specified row, but something isn't working right. For example, if the delete button in row 4 is touched, the fourth row in the data grid is deleted which moves the 5th row into the 4th row position. But I then touch the delete button in the (new) 4th row, the dgIndex passed to my delete script isn't 4...it's 5. Why is that, and how do I fix it? In the past when I've done a row delete in a data grid form I've simply deleted the record in my database, rebuilt the data grid array and re-populated the data grid. So how do I do a row delete without having to do that?
