Thank you!

We have already released an iOS and Android app with this build.
I used Xcode 14.2 with SD 16.2, and it worked perfectly!

Kaveh and Co,

We have actually simplified the licensing in the move to Single Edition, which
is what is causing the confusion here. There is no such thing as Indy or
Business anymore. It's all just LiveCode. You pick the platforms you want and
off you go...

However the new Enhancements Bundle widgets post-date Indy/Business and hence
do not recognise it. The solution being simply to run the latest version. 9.6.8
or 10 dp 4 will be just fine.

Heather

RE: A question/survey of sorts for users of Navigator

2022-01-04 Thread chipsm themartinz.com via use-livecode
Hi Geoff,
I use Navigator on all of my projects.
I like the ideas that you are proposing.
I would like one more item: I am a believer of using behaviors. And, I am also
setting behaviors to behaviors and I would like those behaviors that have
behaviors have the ability to show colors, just like the coloring option that
cards have.
Great Product!

Subject: A question/survey of sorts for users of Navigator

After twenty years, I still use Navigator every time I open LiveCode, and still
think of new features.

One of the very first things I put in Navigator was to make double-clicking a
control open the script for that object, because I edit scripts far more often
than I set properties.

There are now many ways to do other things with controls, and you can configure
double-click to do something else if you want.

But today, I was putting label fields onto a card and editing the contents of
them (also one of the first things I set up in Navigator, because it bugged me
to have to use the properties palette, and the second tab of it at that, to
edit the contents of a field) and it occurred to me: I almost never put a
script in a label field, but I edit their contents all the time.

So: what if you could easily configure Navigator to do different things by
default when you double-click? Double-click a button: edit script.
Double-click a field with "label" in the name, edit its contents.
Double-click a set of controls: open alignment for them. Double-click a
freehand graphic, edit its points. Not sure about that last one, and maybe the
label example is the only real use case.

But let me know if this is something that would be useful.

Dear List Folks,

This list is intended for users to help each other in the use of LiveCode.
Sometimes LC staff get involved and help out here also. It can be a great place
to constructively discuss improvements. It is not a place to take potshots at
each other, at LiveCode or at LiveCode staff. In the future, if a list member
is perceived to be doing this by myself or by a reasonable set of other list
members, they will be banned.

For the avoidance of doubt, by taking potshots I mean:

Accusations of untruths, lying or lack of integrity Persistently pointing out
flaws in LiveCode without any positive suggestions on resolution Namecalling of
any kind General rudeness - please re-read your post before sending and check
it for tone

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. What everyone is not entitled to do is
express unfounded negative opinions about LiveCode and its staff on this list,
which is run by LiveCode, for LiveCode, and for the benefit of LiveCode's users.

I trust I make myself clear. This warning will not be repeated.

RE: [ANN] Release 9.6.2 RC-4

2021-04-13 Thread chipsm themartinz.com via use-livecode
Hi everyone. I am totally confused by this topic.
I know that I downloaded the LC 9.6.2 RC4 64 bit windows version and Windows 10
,latest update, refuses to run the installer.
I have been watching the list and decided to just wait and see if there would
be a fix for this. I have turned off my McAfee to see if that would help, but
to no avail. I have also tried to install the program using the administrator
option.
Is there any recommendations for a solution to this problem? Is this the
problem that everyone is Listing about?

Both 32-bit and 64-bit Windows IDEs can build 32-bit and/or 64-bit windows

RE: autohilite FUBAR?

Hi Jim. I agree that this should be the behavior on all Os's. On Windows, as
you move the mouse across a button, the buttons exhibit a slight flashing

I've never noticed this until Richard made mention of this activity. It is

Richard,

On Mac when I hold the mouse down on a LC button, I can move the cursor around
within the button and the button remains hilited.
As soon as the cursor exits the button the hilite disappears.
To me this is the desired behavior one should see on all platforms.

RE: slow responsiveness on windows - what was it like? More Information about this fix

2021-03-31 Thread chipsm themartinz.com via use-livecode
A bit ago, maybe a year or two, I was having really, really slow performance
when I was doing LiveCode scripting. I posted my problem on this forum and
someone made a suggestion about how the LiveCode Script editor makes a lot of
reads and writes to your computer. The suggestion was made to look at your
anti-virus protection as this was causing the problem.
I eliminated the problem by listing the LiveCode program (under the runrev
folder) as an exception to the Virus Protection Scanning. That solved the
problem.
Thank you to whomever that suggestion was made by because it was a really
frustrating thing to put up with.
You can even list an exception if you are only using Windows Defender.

I would consider creating a behavior that either hides the graphic or set the
graphic to a lighter value.

yes, I thought of that; but since I have 20 groups on my card, it will be
simpler to add a line of script and change the graphic color when toggling
between enable & disable.
I was just wondering if there was a secret trick to disable the graphic and
make it look disabled like the rest of the group.

RE: Cmi5 eLearning Standard in LiveCode

I am still trying to absorb the use of this platform to enhance my LiveCode
experience. I fell totally ignorant about this platform and its benefits.
I am always interested in learning more information about things.

Hi

Brian got me involved in the fall 2020 semester of the xAPI cohort. I worked
on a team that created a service to generate xAPI statements from a Zoom
meeting using the Zoom API. I learned a lot about the Zoom API, web hooks and
xAPI statements.

I have already signed up for the spring 2021 semester.

I would like to have a Zoom call for LiveCoders interested in this initiative.

The xAPI Cohorts have as one of the main activities projects which are worked
on by teams. The projects are then presented at the end of the semester.
I joined Team Zoom last semester to work with people who were already involved
in working with xAPI in diffferent capacities, programmers, education
designers, educators to help be learn more about xAPI in general. This did not
have a LiveCode focus.

I worked with Brian’s team, Team MakeyMakey a bit on his project which had some
focus on LiveCode.

One think I would like to see come out of this eventually is a LiveCode Library
for generating xAPI statements and sending them to a Learning Record Store. My
ultimate goal is to have my application use such a library create such
statements and integrate with a LRS and a LMS. Possible projects would be a
good topic for a pre semester Zoom meeting.

RE: How to set up a library?

2020-12-31 Thread chipsm themartinz.com via use-livecode
I actually have a folder that I created called "myLibraries". You just need to
put that folder into the path so that your application can see it.

Thanks for responding Bob. Apologies for the confusion, I wasn't suggesting
adding it in the actual application bundle; I was wondering whether there is a
corresponding location in what used to be the "My LiveCode" folder in
Documents. I.e. in that folder on my machine I see subfolders
Extensions
Externals
Plugins
Projects
Resources
Runtime

and I wondered whether any of those had some blessed quality which would allow
library stacks stored there to be loaded more easily than 'ordinary' stacks.
