Thanks Klaus, Curry, Paul – just changing the suffix didn't help, but
fortunately, converting the videos to divX format (.avi) with a free
converter seems to have done the trick.
The target audience is creative/theater types so the simplest solution
is best here, but that's helpful to know abo
