Congratulations Malte,
I just wanted to add my two cents to this wonderful library.
A while back, I purchased Malte Brill's Animation Engine library from
RevSelect.I spent a few hours and created a very interesting little 3D
wireframe viewer stack. I only needed 2 functions from Malte's library
I have tried your stack and it keeps giving me errors. Maybe it is
because I

do I delete your demo version of animationEngine so I can run the

the full version.

What kind of errors do you get?
animationEngine is a library stack. So you should just be able to use
the newer one, given you use a
Thanks for the info about the tutorials and I am glad to hear new

As far as the errors it is directly related to the stack Chipp said
to download.
I can get AnimationEngine to run fine in the full mode without errors.
The problem is when I run Chipps demo stack

Hi JB,
I was just checking chipps stack (which is way cool by the way!!!)
The problem is that it carries an old version of AE as a substack, so
if you open chipps stack first then type into the messagebox delete

version of ae
Sivakatirswami, the question is how unique do you need it to be -
this is not a simple question :)
if you need it to be unique only in your own domain (as it were),
then your function is probably fine, but if it needs to be unique in
the wider world, then maybe not.

Thanks for the update Peter!

What is it?
Magic.
Why not try (using original stack) generating an output from your data to a
substack and a new card in that substack and see if that prints ok? I do all
my printing that way anyway to get more control.

I deleted the substack, saved it and then from the message box while
Chipps stack was in front set the substack to animationEngine 2.9. I
checked the substack list in Chipps stack and it is listed.
But when I quit Rev and then doubleclick Chipps stack it opens then
gives me message it can't
You are absolutely correct, Mark. A stupd blunder on my part was incorrectly
logging my split times so I have been chasing ghosts. No need for quicksort
binary splitting on the file sizes involved. Thank you.

1. animation engine is a stack like every other one. rev can't
magically find stacks on your hard disk. So it has to be open in rev
to be useful.
2. Animation Engine needs to be among the stacksInUse. to get it there
you need to execute this line of code: start using stack
I thought the replacing of the substack and adding the new version
was supposed to proved the new link to put the stack in use. And

I would suggest that Chipp fix HIS stack, and furnish a new link to
the fixed stack, so that we all don't have to go through the same
machinations. Please?

recognised by RR using RR alone - is this possible ?
Not as far as I know... the only things we can do using RR alone is to
manipulate sockets, and transmitting keystrokes requires communicating
something totally different
JB,
I have animationEngine 2.9 and have used Chipp's stack without using
2.9. His stack works, but you need to click the Load Model button.

We made it for both Windows and Mac. We're coordinating with Kee now,
I've sent him the name of my client. By the way, the person who did the

IIRC, my 3D stack has a copy of the old animationEngine library with
it. I believe it can only be run in demo mode within the Rev IDE, and
only for a certain number of days. So, there's no need to open the new
animationEngine library-- and if you do, you may get conflicts.
