I am trying to print a card and the result is that the graphics print out but
not the text. This is a new problem because it used to work fine. I am using
Rev 4.0 and Mac OSX 10.6.4 on an intel iMac.
All the text fields use Arial and changing the font does not yield any
different results.
Is there any sound on the video?

Thanks. I think a narration of what you are doing on the video would be
helpful.

The DVDs have not made it to the deep south yet, and neither have I had a

I have been trying to see if I can distinguish which mouse button was used to
click on a button but without success. Is this possible and if so is it cross

That worked for me on the Mac, so presumably will work on a PC which is two

Many thanks

Devin:
Many thanks for the tip. I did actually try the documentation but got hung up
on mouseButtonNumber, which is what I thought I would need. As I have read so
many times on this list, the answer is usually in the documentation, if you
know where to look.

I am also a great admirer of what Voyager did with HyperCard. How many of you
saw their A hard Day's Night stack? Black
and white and beautiful.
I have the documentation for the Toolkit product they put out. This lists the

Does anyone know of a workaround for changing the pitch of the
beep since the beepPitch command is not supported on all but
linnux platforms. I need auditory confirmation of which one of a
pair of buttons has been clicked and would very much like to be
able to have each of the buttons
Malte:
This was something I had considered, but the beepPitch seemed
like such a neat solution. However, what you have suggested does
have the advantage that I can provide the exact audio feedback
that I want. Many thanks for your help.

Slightly off topic but to do with numberFormat.
I have had some difficulties with this property which I have managed to get around. I
needed to do some calculations and enter the result in a field limiting the number to
two decimal places. Set the numberFormat to 0.00 works as documented. My
Dear Jan,
Thanks for the tip. It is certainly a lot simpler and far more elegant than my
solution. I wonder how you would deal with a script that includes a repeat loop that
does something like the following:
put 1 into i
repeat 3
put ETGUG i into x
put x into fld i of cd Results
Reminds me of a line in a song done Ella Louis, by among others:
You say patahto and I say potayto.. let's call the whole thing off.

I wonder if somebody could help me with building a standalone, a
task which is new to me.
Here is what I am doing. I have built two main stacks;
SLDataCollection which I use to collect and store data and
SLResults which is essentially a single card where I place the
results for printing.

The tutorials were extremely helpful. The second did not run all
the way through for me. The picture disappeared although your
voice continued with the commentary.
This method of instruction, i.e. movies, is being used by Apple for
their on-line seminars and they are very effective.
Chris - this is a great idea. I was an early adopter of Oracle Media
Objects (you had to be early otherwise you missed out completely
because the application was pulled fro the market!). One of the
things that they did was to produce two videos (VHS) which showed
how one could use the
