I have realised what is causing the problems with Futon. It is Internet
Explorer 11. I recently upgraded which may have been a mistake. First
Google stops working properly, now Futon. But Firefox works as expected.

Also please clarify if fauxton http://localhost:5984/fauxton/ *also*
doesn't work, as that's probably more of a concern.

At your own risk. CouchDB makes no promise not to break reduce
functions that don't follow the rules, though we won't do it
capriciously.
