Hello!,
Well, with VNC I was planning to use a 1:1 mapping between users and VMs
(around 20), but with XRDP it seems I can reduce the VM count and have 4
machines with 5 users. That would reduce the OS maintenance overhead like
patching, or Firefox bookmarks maintenance (Puppet in the ToDo list,

Quick update:
Works:
- Keyboard layout --> set in Guacamole profile
- Resize --> changed to reconnect (there's a patch for "display
update" at https://github.com/neutrinolabs/xrdp/pull/1820, but not
present in 0.9.13.1 that ships with openSUSE 15.3)
Could you share any tips regarding:

Almost completely unsupported in VNC - there are a few servers that support
it, but it isn't part of the standard, and Guacamole does
Thanks Nick,
I'm giving it a try. Any tips you could share regarding:
- Screen resize with browser.
- Audio
- Keyboard layout
- Firewall rules (weirdly enough, I can't make it work enabling
3389/tcp, only completely disabling the firewall makes it work. Still
investigating..)

I successfully configured guacamole to record sessions to my specified
directory and I tested the created files and work great!!! However I'm
having an issue:
Every new session recording file get created with 600 permission, and I
want another user to be able to access those files in case
From the output it looks like it’s failing to find any of the necessary
installed packages of xors-server to build against.
On an ubuntu system these are the packages that I install in order to compile:
- xorg
- x11-utils
- libxfont (I couldn’t get libxfont1 on ubuntu so I used libxfont2 but it
Of course it depends on network bandwidth and also server resources.

I guess the maximum is what the database allows you, wich in practical
terms means unlimited ;)
Beware: although you may create an unlimited number users, the actual
simultaneous users will be restricted up to the server performance...

This has been resolved. I had thought the user I was logging in with was
attached to AD, but apparently it was not. Thanks for your assistance!

Thanks for the reply Nick.
By some users aren't showing up, I mean they are not being imported to the
Users tab in guacamole. For example, I went to assign a connection to a new
user this morning, but her user account didn't appear in Guacamole. She is
in an OU nested under the
A bit off-track maybe, but in part relevant -- what I am actually
experiencing is:
- Login as a LDAP user.
- Logout as that LDAP user.
- Login as a non-LDAP Admin user.
- Set a (local) password on the Aforementioned LDAP user.
- Login again as the LDAP user.
The "users" and "groups" tabs will

When you say "my users aren't
I reckon that LDAP broke some time ago, and some of my users aren't
showing up. I've already popped my credentials and filter terms into an
LDAP browser, which successfully connects and pulls user data.
- How should I go about troubleshooting?
- Does my LDAP user need to be in any
