Hello,
In RegioServer log file you should have exception above this one you paste
that explains why rs process is exiting. You will probably find root cause
of issue there.

Hi Samir,
Thank you for your answer and your time.
My problem is that there is no exception in the logs! Maybe there is a way
to get more debug information?
What could make a regionserver disconnect at start knowing that the
connections seems to be good?
Thank you again.
Regards,
Orlando
Well there should be some more info in logs. You can try to start
RegionServer process with hbase regionserver start commanf that will log
everything on terminal so you can track where is issue.

Samir

Here are the regionserver logs when I try to start it.
Am I missing something useful in it?

Yes, it is safe to bounce the HMaster without taking the region servers down.
Are there any regions in transition (would be shown on the master's page)?

We have no regions in transition.
As far as who's requesting the table descriptors: We are calling
HTableIterface.getTableDescriptor frequently. We are going to cache the result

Thanks for the hint!

Hello everyone,
I’m facing a very strange situation with my test cluster.
Several services are up and running, and I would like to start HBase.
HBase master starts well, but impossible to start any regionserver.
When I try to start one manually, I get this error:

This cloud be hdfs related. Did you check your hdfs is running correctly ?

HDFS is up and running fine. It's HEALTHY and not in SAFE MODE.
I watched at HDFS logs while I'm trying to start HBase but nothing
appears...
Thank you for your help.

As you are using Hortonworks distribution than it's not likely you are
hitting classpath issue.
Can you maybe paste here your hbase-site.conf?
Thanks

I suppose this is the only solution remaining.
The thing is that I'm using Hortonworks' HDP distribution, so that's very
strange I'm the only one facing this issue.
Nevertheless, thank you very much for your help. Since I'm still in the test
phase of my work, I can go for a brand new install.
