Hi,
The problem of your scan is that filter will grab all data then do the
filter things. Thus it's very slow.
You may try to specify the column family when you scan, like
"scan 't1', { LIMIT => 10, COLUMNS => ['c1', 'c2'], CACHE_BLOCKS => false}".
