That won't work. You must use the exact same version which was used while

You need to build fb303 for this. Go to the dir where you untarred thrift
tar ball. Then, cd contrib/fb303 . Then ./bootstrap.sh configure make

There are two factors which may affect job startup time in case of large
number of partitions:
a) Getting partition info from metastore: Hive stores metadata about each
partiton in metastore. Depending on number of partitions, it needs to fetch,
that can take some time.
